What are the T-Mobile GPRS / EDGE network settings for any handset / device


Issue:

What are the T-Mobile GPRS / EDGE network settings (APN, DNS, gateway IP, proxy, etc.) for any handset / device

Response:

Note: Effective June 27th, 2009 it is no longer required to use a different APNs to access services. The APN should be set as epc.tmobile.com at all times. Proxy Settings can be entered but will be ignored by the gateway.

Note:T-Mobile cannot guarantee that handsets not sold by T-Mobile will function as desired on our network.

Gateway IP:
Primary = 216.155.165.050, port = 8080
Secondary = 216.155.165.051, port = 8080

Note: Port 9201 can be used instead of 8080 if there are problems connecting.

Authentication:Normal
Header Compression: No
Proxy (as needed): 216.155.175.188 at port 8080

Note: Some manufacturers use a content proxy for their proprietary browser. For more details, customers can contact the manufacturer.

Some corporate intranets require a proxy setting in the browser. Contact the corporate IT support staff.

T-Mobile Internet: Internet2.voicestream.com
T-Mobile Internet VPN: Internet3.voicestream.com
Web2Go/t-zones: wap.voicestream.com
BlackBerry: blackberry.net
Sidekick: hiptop.t-mobile.com
T-Mobile G1: epc.tmobile.com

Quality of Service (QoS): The QoS setting is configured by T-Mobile. The connection setting defaults to three, and changing the settings on the handset does not effect the connection in any way. The peak rate and mean rate are also automatically set by T-Mobile.

GPRS dial-up number: *99#
Alternate DUN: *99***X# where X is the Connection ID (CID)
