DSL and @Home Service
Issue:
How can local phone service be transferred to @Home with DSL?
How does the @Home service work with DSL when it is tied to the local phone line service?
Note: Adapted from a Forum question.
Response:
Many landline providers and independent DSL providers offer what is referred to as Dry Loop or Dry Line DSL. This means the DSL line is connected to the location without being able to use Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS). Keep in mind that from the landline provider’s perspective, this still uses a phone number in the switch and will need to be setup and provisioned within their normal requirements, even if you already have DSL on your current phone service as it must be physically rewired to a different part of the Switch or Remote Terminal
