Android

The Android platform is a software stack for mobile devices including an operating system, middleware and key applications that is brought to us via the Open Handset Alliance. Developers can create applications for the platform using the Android SDK. T-Mobile is proud to be one of the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance, a group of technology and mobile companies that have come together to create a better mobile experience.

In addition, T-Mobile is also proud to be the first carrier to bring to market an Android device, the G1, which was released in October 2008.   Because of the nature of Android and the Android Market, we aren’t able to accept Android applications through the devPartner Program at this time.  We have, however, included resources for your Android development projects, and we also encourage you to think about looking at what other devices in T-Mobile’s network would be perfect for that project through this program.
